good luck with it, looks like a decent project. suggestion on the mirrors tho, either go back to the street scene style mirrors or mod those to sit at the normal height, they dont look right way up there like that. they look more like snorkels than mirrors

spend a few bucks now under 10 and get the smallest machine screws and nuts RS has and use those to make a viable body lift.

what shuld i do next after a motor
Get a radline motor(sp, from the racing 3 pack), it is fast and has great torque. Red i am not trying to take a customer away from you, don't worry;) . You said cheap off roader and i think that motor would be a little cheaper than reds motors. but red makes faster and better motors. You should put a light bar on it. maybe a custom hood? i like it. possibly black out the grill(stock one), like the one reference picture.
xmodkidd33
06-26-2008, 01:35 PM
I like it so far, pictures did get a lot better. :D
I say get the Radline or Neo magnets. Nice wheels/tires, too.
stangdude94
06-26-2008, 01:48 PM
thanks for the ideas
fieldfairy2
06-26-2008, 02:16 PM
Xmodkidd33: the radline has more torque than just neos and a stage1/or 2 alone. radline and neo mags would be good. or switch the radline sr magnets into the sp ca. because the magnets look different in each can.
your welcome stangdude
stangdude94
06-26-2008, 02:21 PM
yeah where can i just get a hold of the redline sp
nitemeer
06-26-2008, 03:36 PM
yeah where can i just get a hold of the redline sp
most likely you have to buy them at Target in a pack of 3 motors... those motors are not bad.. thats what im using right now on my somewhat crawler lol

Looks pretty nice!Did you lock the diffs?
Stangdude, if you are going to, only lock the rear. A locked front increases the steering radius, making it harder to turn.

yea what he said my ford crawler has both of them locked and i have to do like a million point turns to go right or left... its not very fun
stangdude94

Looks very nice so far like the silver on blue. The scoop and Hemi lookin' good also. The lock differential makes a world of difference when off roading just the rear one is enough, it's almost unstopable:)
stangdude94
06-30-2008, 12:32 PM
update!!!!!
locked the rear diff last night and tested it 2day .IT ROCKS on the trail !!!!!
got an s2 motor for it actual it my little bro i "barrowed it "

Not bad. I think you could have done a little better on the hood but a good first try.
Another suggestion: Custom mud guard/skid plate. use some aluminum.
don't lock the front diff too. trust me there goes your steering then. Anything else coming on the for this thing? more mods?
keep it up.
stangdude94
06-30-2008, 12:43 PM

find a corvette body kit and rip off those tailpipes and glue them center to the rear bumper. cheap dual exhaust for the F150 or any truck.

go to the lego store or website and look.
Looks nice. Sand down the hood tho. Too many layers of paint wont look good. Try to get it back to the original color. Keep it up. this hood will look better.
