Wow.. look at all the pores in the paint.

What did you use to paint it? Did you primer it first?

I'm not sure I really dig it, maybe if the paint were better it would change my mind but I'm not sure.

You need to get 1500-2000 grit sand paper and sand with that before you go laying down your base coat.

Sand it back down, primer it and look at it. If it's rough, get out the 1500 or 2000 and sand it until everything looks smooth. Wash off the body to get the dust off, primer it again. Keep doing this until it looks smooth, lay down a base coat and look at it. Get a couple coats of base on there once you are sure it's good, and lightly wet sand it with the 1500 or 2000, wash it off and then clear coat it. When you wet sand with the base coat, be especially careful on sharp lines and corners, the paint will be thinner there and you can easily sand it down to the primer/mold.

IMPORTANT: When you wash the body, AIR DRY ONLY. If you use a towel to dry it, you could get fuzzies on there, some kind of oil or contaminant that would ruin the paint. Be VERY careful of touching the paint with your fingers, oils from your skin can ruin the paint also.

i did prime it, just that all of this was cheap paint.. i didn't really care how it turned out that much.. since i'm not expert on painting and stuff. It took me about 6 hours to finish this project.. sanding+painting. redoing everything would take me too long, cost too much and i don't feel like wasting that much time on one project actually.

Just curious - what paint did you use?

Well, I'd never, ever, ever, use it again. It's really bad quality, from what I can tell. Either that, or something went horribly wrong during painting...:uhoh:

I'd refrain from painting anything else before you get some practice on other things without as much value as an XMod body. ;)

looks to me like the primer reacted with the paint, either that or it didn't have enough time to flash in between coats. if you want to play around with painting and practicing, try out some metallic paint, it covers better and dries faster and is more forgiving IMO, it didnt come out too bad though, i've done much worse =P
