Rules for this Competition:
1. Your shell must be a domestic muscle car. Year, make and model do not matter as long as it is domestic muscle.

we have to go by the original manufacture's specs of the body used since there is no way to make an electic R/C car "muscle".

if the base model is a V6 or smaller, then it's a tuner, not a muscle car.

2. Must be a non-RadioShack upgrade on your car.

I'd say yes you could.:bigwink:

Classiclover

Does the non-RadioShack upgrade need to be on the chassis? Or could it be something like a custom body?

Custom body is a-ok.

fordman239

custom body i do believe as long as its a muscle car.

my sister has a 94 t-bird with that same motor, does that make it a mucsle car?

bondo

you guys are making this way too hard.
an example of a domestic tuner would be a sunfire or probe.
4-6 Cyl. cars that dont have a V8 factory option.
if it's a domestic CAR and you can buy it with a V8 then it's conscidered muscle.
it may not be the same deffinition that it was 30 years ago but times and regulations have changed.

cant u get a v-8 probe

texan_idiot25
06-10-2008, 12:19 PM
Nope...

This is simple a very one. V8, RWD, American, Car, power, torque. No Probes, no domestic ricers (Dodge Stealth/Mitsu 3000GT, etc), No imports with american power under the hood (supercharged 383 CRX)

If the concept really blows your mind at the moment, please read:

his car is legit. it actually has a CF driveshaft and a 6th cell mod and even though the body is stock, it still looks pretty cool (at least it isn't mutilated with 8 coats of paint and sporting cut out fenderwells). it's bondo's competition, so it's his call in my opinion; but, the more the merrier. :)

Photobucket doesn't make the 1st pic a link, the site's software has a problem with the images if you have a space anywhere in the Photobucket link. Say you have an album called "My Pics", since there is a space in the album name, when you put the full link "photobucket.com/texan/my%pics/lol.jpg" the % that takes place of the space in your album name, and for what ever reason, messes with the forum software and it refuses to show a pic. Take the space out of the album name (or use an underscore _) and it no longer does this.

Don't ask me why the site does it, but I've noticed it does this on sites that use this forum software.

It only does this when you edit a post, too. When you edit your post, make sure you go to the "Advanced Edit" instead of the "quick edit." This will ensure that all your pictures will remain as [img] and not show up as a link. ;)

That "V6 or smaller is a tuner" rule is bull****. Take in example a 68 corvette, v6. A 69 Camaro, V6. 65 Catalina, V6. 69 Coronet, V4! 69 Nova, V4!

Long story short, I think this rule should be removed. We all know the difference between a Muscle car and a tuner here.

I would like to address this issue, so that it doesn't come up again. Bondo was willing to donate back a percentage of the money he won, per competition guidlines he gets to pick the category and state the stipulations. If you want to throw in 50 bucks of your own money, by all means, next month you can do a 4 cylinder or less competition.

As far as your point on cars, all of those cars save the catalina( I am not sure of) have 8 cylinder counterparts. They may not be that particular trim or year, but the bodystyle did have an eight cylinder variant--therefore they would qualify. The rule in itself was to keep FWD 4 cylinder domestics out of the competition. No VR4 dodge stealths or cavaliers. I am sure that if you even wanted to build a drag spec imitation gremlin or pacer Bondo would more than likely allow it in the competion-although these are subcompacts of their era, the v8 swap is very common place-especially for drag purposes.

Try not to over analyze the rules, if you don't like the stipulations set you are not required to compete; wait until the next competition. If you have an entry you are not sure of, send it to a mod and it will be looked over. The point is to have fun.

Are you smoking something? Every single car you mentioned came with a V8.

And the Vette has NEVER had a V6.(Original Vette had a Straight 6 before getting the SBC, but no V6 and certainly not in the 68)
69 Camaro, did not have a V6. (Slant 6)
The 69 Catalina was all V8.
Coronet, no V6. (Slant 6)
Nova, no V4. (Straight 4)

You didn't get a single thing right in that entire statement. Before you go and try and waive the rules as BS, and make a fool out of yourself, check your facts and the rules. All of those cars you mentioned are good for the comp.

Actually Smartass, I know exactly what Im talking about. A 68 Corvette came with a 427 V6, 435 HP engine. A 69 Camaro came with a 427 V6 option. Most cars i mentioned had the option of the V6 or V8. For instance, the camaro also couldve come with a 350, 396 or a 427.

GM has never had a 427ci V6.

The 427 is a V8.

Only GMC Trucks had large displacement V6 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMC_V6_engine)s, and they were no HP monsters, purely built for Torque.

The Chevy 427, that's a V8. The COPO Camaro (ZL1) came with the L76 427 V8. The Corvette had the L88 427. But the 68 had been made to 454. And none of the cars you mentioned had V6s in the years you gave us. The 3rd Gen F-Body was the only car you mentioned that did eventually have a V6. At a whopping 130 hp.

Oh my god you're kidding me right?

A 427 c.i V6? I know you're not serious, I KNOW you're not serious. No one can possibly think this is true.

A 427 is a BIG BLOCK 8 cylinder engine. And I'm not even sure they were offered with 427's, I think 396's were the biggest Camaros got. I might be wrong, I dont study up on the old Camaros that much. I know Chevelles received 454's though.

If it were a V-6, it was not 427 cubic inches. You sir, fail.

The rules for each specific COTM is in the Entry Thread in the first post.

http://www.xmodsource.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13224

However, you're not able to participate in this months COTM because you haven't been a member here long enough. To participate in this months COTM you would have had to have been a member since May 5, 2008.

true but if you look at the original cudas in person all they have only the stripe all the way across the body on both sides.. or the same graphic like the one in the comp

Interior, engine, painted details, etc. The over-all car IMO is why I'd vote for it. ;)

I'm voting for Noturday.
Or if SS's GTfO or Texan's Wildcat get finished in time, it'll be a tough decision.

I've got five pics of mine so I still need another. I don't think I'll enter it though. The paint didn't come out too good, a few parts are missing and it's not mounted well.
It makes sense though, very little experience with custom bodies and it's an old model, not in the best of shape. Not everything fit the way it should have.
Of course, I might change my mind...

well, im new to custom bodies 2, the torino is only my second one, and here are the 2 that i did.

Duct taped deck lid, is it holding the lid down or the Bumper on?
Both :p
That thing is beautifully disgusting.
I love it.
I don't know who to vote for now...

Haha, thanks.

Shapecharge's Mustang (it's a really awesome build, check it out on XMW) Suicide's GTO, and Noturday's Chevelle are looking good to me....

He has been a member since January 2008. He's been here long enough. ;)

TheRuns -- Cute, but the images need to be your car in it's current state, not the state it was in before.. You still need a sixth image by 9:00PM EST.

Exellent competition guys! It will be very hard for me to pick who to vote for. I've got it culled down to Noturday, SS and Shapcharge but I'm not sure which one vote for.:nodno: But I'll get it figured out.:bigwink:
