June 2008 COTM; "Muscle Car" Entry Thread:

Welcome to the June 2008 Car of the Month (COTM) competition! The prize for this month will be a $50 PayPal donation from Bondo; be sure to thank him for his generosity! The theme for this months competition is "Muscle Car!"

Make sure you read all of the rules; anyone caught not following a competition rule could be excluded from the competiton, both your vote and your entry.

Any questions you may have are to be asked in the Discussion Thread. (http://www.xmodsource.com/forum/showthread.php?p=163234#post163234) Any questions asked here will be deleted as well as one infraction point will be given. This is the entry thread only, no discussion, please.



Rules for this Competition:
1. Your shell must be a domestic muscle car. Year, make and model do not matter as long as it is domestic muscle.
American Muscle = 2,000+ curb weight (in Lbs), american car produced by an american car company that came with a V8 version even if the base model was a V6.

we have to go by the original manufacture's specs of the body used since there is no way to make an electic R/C car "muscle".

if the base model is a V6 or smaller, then it's a tuner, not a muscle car.
2. Must be a non-RadioShack upgrade on your car.

Entry Rules:
Entries are due by: June 30th by 9:00PM EST!
1. Members are required to have been a member of Xmodsource.com one month prior to the announcement of this competition (must be a member since May 5, 2008).
2. When making a submission, you are required to supply six pictures. One of those six pictures has to be a picture of your Xmods chassis. However, no more than eight pictures are allowed.
3. All members are limited to one submission.
4. Your submission must be modified in some way other than using RadioShack upgrades. A list of upgrades is required during submission.

Voting:
A voting thread will be created: June 30th after 9:00PM EST!
1. A voting thread will be created on the 30th of June and the voting thread will be closed on the 3rd of July. Entries must be in by the 30th of June at 9:00PM EST! Late entries are not allowed into the competition, be on time!
2. Voting is open to anyone who has been a member of Xmodsource.com for more than a thirty-five day period. For the June competition, in order to vote, you would have to have been a member since May 31, 2008.
3. Voting is watched closely. Votes cast for ones own Xmod will be void, as well as members under that thirty-five day period will not be counted. Do not vote for yourself and do not make seperate accounts to vote for yourself.


Custom Chassis’:
Custom chassis’ are allowed as long as they are Xmods based. Your custom chassis must be based solely on the Xmods line; you may not use any chassis parts from other manufactures (with the exception of rims/tires/wheels). However, you are allowed to use electronics from other manufactures (like Kyosho, iWaver and MicroT boards as well as hobby-grade servos).

As mentioned above, custom chassis' are allowed as long as they are Xmod based; chassis manufactures like CXP, AtomicMods and others are also allowed.

So Bondo said if you made is years ago bring it, show it, enter it! So here it is! My 1967 Pontiac Firebird, painted and modified ages ago but it never had any power! So todays mods include:

Custom Paint

Open Hood Scoop

Rear Body Lift
Drive Shaft Removal

Custom rear fat Goodyear drag tires
Pro-wired board - deans on both battery and motor leads
BLT456 Li-Ion Kit

To finish the car I basically had to go through my parts bin and dig out a whole bunch of Gen1 parts, so it has for example a mix of Mini-Z metal and nylon bearings, yellow rear springs, stock at the front, if you want to talk about what you might see at a trailer park I think this would be pretty close.... the paint is horrible because someone gave me this shell and it had about 10 coats of crap on it, I sanded it for ages but what you see is the best I could get... the hood is a mess but otherwise its ok.... :)
