Finally got around to redo my evo 8. THis was my first xmod. It went through a blue paint job(okay) a black paint job(really thick!!! and worst paint job ever) to finally blue again(one of my best paint jobs.)

THe black paint on it was really thick so when i got done sanding it half of the body and window lines were gone or really hard to notice. So for the condition of this car before to now it is awesome. i puttied and fixed minor chips in the paint all around the car, filled in the license plate, and wing screw holes, and the side skirts. I didn't know how to take the head/tail lights off then...

really before(sanding):

Before paint: (every thing white is putty)

Today:

I had to guess where the windows were too. I use tamiya spray cans. Primer, black base, taped windows and grills, mica blue, unmasked, clear. I used black on the headlights and tint spray on the tail lights. I have to get some pics with the lights on. It looks mean.

lights:

These pics were on a chassis that isn't under construction. So the body is crooked. Does look good lowered tho.. there was a bad glare. but i think you get the picture. the lights really are just a little circle like the led. the camera gives it that glare look.

I will get head/tail light pics.

this is on a working chassis. The evo is not meant for this chassis. so it looks lopsided or slanted.

thanks all comments welcome. please tell what you think..

I wonder who said D ??? I didnt I like it,I said A+++.I dont understand why you put grades, instead of "very nice","hot","not great but ok",or "ugly".It looks very nice,to me.The putty work looks good too.

Looks amazing now. Not the best, but I'm saying it's amazing for what you done. You restored an Xmod! You probably shouldnt have done the rear license plate thing, it looks a little too "plain". You should try to make the body lines more visable. Great work either way 6/5!

it looks good from wat it was.

thanks you too. I used black spray paint in the front. then i found some tinit spray and used that for the rear

thanks. every body is entitled to their own opinion. What exaclty do you mean by "bump work" like which bumper?

the bump work is remoing any imperfections or dents and dings in the real car world this picture the putty is very wavy with low spots.

very nice, besides that the paint is a little thick, the rear bumper little things look lop sided, and the windows, I think it turned out great!

I voted B

thanks. THis paint isnt thick it was the 2nd paint job that killed it. o well. What looks lopsided? the car was on a chassis that isn't underconstruction and still works. I just pluged the lights in just to see what it looks like. I think that is what you meant.

thanks guys. I am still working on the chassis.
