LOL - when you've dealt with alot of models like I have you'll realize that they aren't that hard to do - I can do the models easily - it's fitting in the other stuff that takes abit of planning and custom work to make it all get in there.

I think a black bedliner would look a little better than that green. Just my opinion, though. ;)

Great work, Xmodification. It's turning out to be the best truck you've done so far. ;)

Lookin' awsome, nice project by the way. Like what snowboi1289 I think it should have been lowered a little but probly to late 1/8th or even a 1/16th of an inch would make it look way different. But hey got a lot of travel huh good for the big rocks!! I personally not real fond of the green just not really a Ford color thats just my opinion, layed on real nice not a flaw. Whats wrong with being a Ford? I'm a Ford guy. I would buy a chevy if right price and okay model got nothin against them but prefer Ford.
XMODification: so will those drive shafts really actually drive the truck? I have always admired your work, you've always gone above and beyond but hey they look really really SWEET:bigwink: Also gives us somthin to uh and ahh over. Like what everyone else is saying can't wait!!

I was thinking on the light bar but it's alittle too much - this one will pretty details so i'll leave that idea out for now.

Thank Red. It has 2 micro geared motors for power and I had to switch from micro-t electronics to a xmods board (upgraded with 2x2 stacked FETs)

I think a black bedliner would look a little better than that green. Just my opinion, though. ;)

Great work, Xmodification. It's turning out to be the best truck you've done so far. ;)

Thanks Donzi! I got a few ideas for the bedliner that i'll try out pretty soon.

Thanks dude! I can't lower it due to the lmited space that i'll have for the electroincs and other stuff. The drive shaft ACTUALLY drive the trucks - they're both hooked up the individual micro geared motors.

I did some more work on it last night and due to a minor electronic glitch I had to switch from a micro-t board to an ugraded xmods board (2x2 stacked fets). The switch was abit more challenging to pull off since I had all my plans drawn out with the micro-t board in mind, but by using the xmods board i found out that it's even better - I have now added head/tail lights plus i'm now able to add more details in the engine bay area.

Here's a few pics of it so far (NOTE: some stuff are not glued on yet - just a mock up for now):

Thanks bro! The unimog wasn't nothing hard - just an experiment imo but it was kinda fun to work on.

i'm aware of those rear springs and I have a few ideas to swap them out for something better but I have to wait until I can order the new shocks.

LOL - yeah it would be a big tool box but this one is just temp - I'll be using some liths instead which will be easier to store/hide in a small tool box.

Hey, at least your batteries match the body color.

LOL - I noticed that too - it blends in nicely -lol.

Thanks. I mention before that i'm using 2 micro geared motors and I posted a note in my last post that some stuff aren't glued on yet - pics are just mock-up version for now (it would have help to read alittle before posting  ). Oh yeah - Tamiya paint's the best imo - I use it for all my projects.

No prob dude! The reason the mirrors are crooked is because there's piece of wire in it that I used for support - it wont break off easily because it runs to the inside of the body where it will be glued. I have to paint the trims on it then i'll glue those pieces on - I still got alot of work to do on this one :D.

Well to be quite honest the ride height doesn't really bother me now, actually looks pretty good now, must have been just the little details missin', throwin' me off a lil, duh no(SORRY bout the critisism it sitting to high). It actually looks really good at that height fits the part. You come up with the most INGENIOUS ways to do things it TOTALLY AMAZING. I just love how you made those little drive shafts with the little U joints. It all looks so realistic. I am just speechless when I look at this project/truck. Keep up the ASTOUNDING work ethic.

Hi XMODification, that is one nice truck you got going there.
Ever thought of using the Xmod evo servo motor?
It seems small enough, one might do you well, maybe...or using the two motors you have already, maybe ungear them and do a direct drive, like glue a gear to the drive shaft, and then gear the motor for direct drive, that might be cool, but seems those gearboxes give you lots of torque already:p

The front axle design goes perfectly with that generation of four wheel drive Fords too, that is almost a perfect R/C replica. I love it, you should build up a Chevy truck for me. :D

Where did you get the u-joint idea from? Sorry if you said already, I was just more interested in expressing my opinions.

That's pretty bad-*** though, makes me want to do a truck like that. But I'm not quite that talented yet.

Yeah put a black bedliner in, maybe find a small scale line-x sticker.

And if you want the liner to be like grippy you can try some deck coating with rubber compound in it, make it real realistic...

Thanks Blt! The gearbox is pretty much ok in the torque dept. ( well, atleast i'll find out when I test it -lol) so there's no need to switch motors atm. I'll use a single gear box for my next one - I just haven't figured out what to do after this one -lol.

Thanks dude. I got the U-joints from online but I can't remember exactly where from - I know that they're for micro boats (for the prop shaft). Try looking for mini-quake stuff - it should be nice for 1/24 scale trucks.

Thanks for the idea meme - i'll try to see if i can find a sticker once i get done with the bedliner.

Oh, Ions I see, nice.
That might be overkill on the motors though.:p
As for your next project, maybe like a 1:43 boat.
I'd love to see a boat at 1:3 scale, drop in a micro-t brushless system with a LiPo pack, it would haul!
And that would be sick, you could run it in your bath tub:lol:

It's almost completed to say the least - I only have to make the toolbox, add a few little pieces under the hood and i'll probably redo the entire rear suspension (it works ok for now).

Here's the couplepics and a short vid of the truck as of today:

The truck is alittle too fast for my liking but it's got alot of torque to dish out -lol. Btw, those micro geared motored has been tested to handle up to 9-12V so 7.4V won't hurt them at all:bigwink:

More updates to come soon.

Certainly seems to have a lot of suspension travel judging by how the axles droop so far to the floor on that plastic box. Hopefully there's enough torque for the amount of speed it seems to have.

Servo jittery or is that the way you were turning the wheel?

it's pretty good un travel suspension indeed, as for the steering - I was doing with 1 hand so that's why it was going like that.

Given there is no antenna, bet it's just interference.

Mean-Green-Machine.

LOL - it does have a wire antenna hidden inside with all the electrinics.

that thing looks like its gonna be pretty fast X. almost too fast for offroading, i guess we'll find out soon enough right? (psst, that means we wanna see it out in the dirt :D)

I fixed the speed issue already by taking out the liths and putting in back the 4.8V (4 AAA's) pack - it runs at a decent speed now. I'll get a vid as soon as it drys up over here.

I finally got the toolbox complete and then I find out thatI have no micro plastic hinges left (bummer :( ), so I just need to purchase a pack of those to fully complete it. If you notice the liths are no longer there - it's because it was just too much for it - the 4.8v pack reduced the speed alot and now it's running just the way I want it too run.

Here's a few pics of it @ 95% completed (still have minor little touch-ups and the hinge thing to do) :

Thanks bro! It's not easy trying to hide all those stuff that doesn't belong under the body but with a little planning, time and patience (and the right tools is a major thing also:nod: ) I was able topull it off nicely imo.

I tested it alittle and it's runs great - i'm not too pleased with the rear suspension - it's too "bouncy". I will probably redo the entire rear set-up but I have to go back to drawing board for that one before I touch it:D .

yo try to put weight on the front and rear axles so it can flex over the rocks better.

if you were to keep the liths in you could've added a mini pot(entiameter), which are very small, roughly .5cm x 1cm x 1cm, wire it dircectly infront of the motor (series), so can good jumps for fun, or slow speed torqu for crawling,

anyway glad to see another project from you this one might just be better than your gmc crewcab

nice ford man, You should add some shock absorbers in the rear, instead of just springs.

I'm already working on a new set-up for the rear - the springs are too bouncy so i'll replace them with some similar to the front ones then later i'll order some oil shocks (either micro-t's or mini-z's) so that it functions more smoothly. Overall it works pretty well on the rocky concrete terrain so i'll find out later how it runs in the mud, and water  .
