Ok In my sig it says" bumblebee + evo" now it is becoming a project thread. The Dragmaro. It will be a drag car. As for the upgrades, i am not worried about those at the moment.

Before:
A normal 09 camaro

Today i have smoothed out most of the rough spots(still have a lot more), extended the spoiler and more:

Edit: Chassis:

As you can see a lot more to do. It will be on my other camaro chassis with a custom hand wound motor for sure.

All comments welcome. Any paint suggestions?

Thanks,

It is the evo wild sideskirts. I painted the evo black, but it didn't turn out well and i am repainting the evo and i though why not use these. They fit almost perfectly with minor triming.

I will keep u guys posted.

interesting build man, props to you if you can pull it off, looks like you've got a decent start, now you just need to tie all that in to the rear bumper and make sure everything flows smoothly. good luck with it

O well. I beat you to it. . Thanks

Update:

I washed the body before a layer of putty(drying). Before i puttied the car. I did some minor things. I put the body back together. I made "biggie" rear wheels and i made a custom rear clip, for some tire clearance. I used the radioshack machine screws and nuts to make it a little higher.

pics are uploading.

I assume that since you are going wider with the body, you will be going wider with the tires, as a drag car has wide tires?

Really interesting idea, going to watch this one.

Stangdude, he didn't "steal" your idea. And besides, who cares if he is doing it, that doesn't mean you can't do it now? Do one your way, post it up. Let's see it, don't be scared.

looks pretty good, for paint maybe a metallic red with black strips, or gunmetal with white strips...

I am going to try to get wider tires. For now i am getting the wide axles in the race suspension thing. Thanks

I am leaning towards gun metal gray with flat black racing stripes.

Looks like it's coming along great. You going to keep those rims? Or change them to somthing else. I still think the Evo parts are sharp for some reason, and not round...

Hey,I used to have those small tiny skateboards,I think there called tic decks or something.Very creative!!!
But my opinion is,instead of the wheelie bar,or what ever it is,make it look more like bars, like circle bars.

I like the body work. When I first seen the pictures,it looked like you were making rear fins(like most of the 1950's cars).

teck decks:bigwink: I am still working on the wheelie bar. i need to smooth it out then i will try to make it more like bars.

thanks. It did at first.

The chassis is about stock besides the rear lift thing and a motor soon along with wider axles.I like how this car is coming along. I wanted to do something custom like nobody else has done. Maybe a chin spoiler? any other things i should do? the paint: gun metal gray with flat black racing stripes. (<----- hint on the next surprise: word #2 and #32). the motor is a 42t in a stock can for now. I tried pattern winding. It went well. the first 3 layers(9-8-7) were easy than it got harder. I happy with the outcome. Just need a different can. Maybe some lithium in the future.

i finally got the putty to dry correctly so here we are as of right now:

thanks. This is the evo's 3rd paint job. This is the good one. It was my first xmod so yea. the second paint job was really thick. I sanded it down so the body lines are about gone but this paint is really thin and very good. best paint yet until i see the final result of the Dragmaro.

Update:
It is in the painting process. Drying.. so i can tape it up.

Why does the first pic always become link? it is the same picture so don't bother with the link. the second pic works idk.

thanks, it is glass smooth.:) i used 1500 grit.

Well some of you guys are probably like " what is he doing, he is taking so long" and stuff like that. I thought i would make this cotm but i won't. that is why i haven't updated it. After these few pics i have changed to a metal heat sink and i have changed the rear shocks to the inside position.

so some pics.... 56K warning. Lots of pics.

Clean and smooth, great color too. The only thing I don't really care for is the side. You can see the seam where the door is, but as you move back it just gets puttied over. I doubt you would want to go back to change it though.
It's also surprising how much better the chassis parts look in black.

Overall, it's an excellent job.
Any hints on the secrets are?

you may want to make custom deep dish rims via noturdays tutorial. also, touch up where the stripes were taped off, it looks like the paint is coming through, sorry. um, overall, i rate it 8/10, but maybe the updates will give it a 9.5 or 10. good job, vey creative.

if you have any of the Firebird, '65 Mustang or '67 camaro tires, I would say you could put those over the normal tires in the rear, it would look much better as well because if you do it right it will still show the whole rim.
The only con that I've noticed it that the tire starts to crack from being stretched too long. So far the cracks aren't anything to worry about.
If you need 'em a little bigger, use the drag tires that come with the '65, '67 and Firebird bodykits instead.

Not feeling it, the sides are too lumpy where you did all the extra work. It's not smooth and doesn't flow, it's very distracting to the eye.

The paint it self looks killer, the body work doesn't. I like your idea, but I think it could have been executed alot better.

Freakin' excellent. A fatter set of tires and your set to roll.

Maybe in the future if you really want to send this sucker home, get a file, or something of the sort, and work the hard/sharp-body lines back into the rear fenders.

Nice work.

i tried that didn't work so well(on different rims) i have something else that is going to make up for that tho. There is only 2 spots on the strips that are noticable. thanks. I think my secrets will boost it.

Very clean execution. Needs to be lowered, though...

thank you. I am trying to lower the front the rear is supposed to be like that, for the bigger tires. I have bigger tires in the rear, the lift kit thing in the rear and my custom body lift in the rear.

lowered, and it has a fat but lol. But that color is hot!!!! where did you get that color? Also its photobucket that makes the first pic a link, it does it to me too. I hate it.

it is tamiya's spray cans. Gunmetal gray with flat black racing stripes. Only when i made different folders does photobucket do that.

i might paint around the wheel wells. thank you

Not feeling it, the sides are too lumpy where you did all the extra work. It's not smooth and doesn't flow, it's very distracting to the eye.

The paint it self looks killer, the body work doesn't. I like your idea, but I think it could have been executed alot better.

thanks for the comment. I am open to anything. just want different opinons. Thanks tho.

Freakin' excellent. A fatter set of tires and your set to roll.

Maybe in the future if you really want to send this sucker home, get a file, or something of the sort, and work the hard/sharp-body lines back into the rear fenders.

Nice work.

thank you too. THe fatter set of tires might happen if i can find some. but i have another plan.

i might file it down in the future you never know.

thanks guys.

secret hints:

1. It has got to live up to it's name.
2. Wider tires isn't going to happen but it will be wider
3. Maybe add on some stories to the building.

I painted the battery cover and the tie rod. I am out of primer and flat black. Probably won't need more:
