April/May 2008 -- "Open Class" Entry Thread:

Welcome to one of the largest competitions to have ever hit Xmodsource.com! Since our dear friend ZX9RBART has decided to donate a paypal/money transfer of $100, this competition will be something special. It will be a two month competition with some different rules.

Make sure to read all of the rules; anyone caught not following a rule will be instantly withdrawn from the competition as well as be given infraction points.

Rules:
1. Members are required to have been a member of Xmodsource.com one month prior to the announcement of this competition.
2. Members are required to have a submission containing six pictures of their Xmod. One of these pictures has to be a chassis picture, the other five can be whatever you want. Remember, that is a six picture maximum and minimum!
3. All members are limited to one submission.
4. Your submission must be modified in some way other than using RadioShack upgrades. A list of upgrades is required during submission.

Voting:
1. A voting thread will be created on the 28th of May and the voting thread will be closed on the 2nd of June. Entries must be in by the 28th of May at 9:00PM EST.
2. Voting is open to all members but will be watched very, very closely. Any member caught cheating during voting will be instantly eliminated and banned from the forum.
3. It is encouraged for members to vote for someone other than themselves.


Custom Chassis’:
Custom chassis’ are allowed as long as they are Xmods based. Your custom chassis must be based solely on the Xmods line; you may not use any chassis parts from other manufactures (with the exception of rims/tires/wheels). However, you are allowed to use electronics from other manufactures (like Kyosho, iWaver and MicroT boards as well as hobby-grade servos).

As mentioned above, custom chassis' are allowed as long as they are Xmod based; chassis manufactures like CXP, AtomicMods and others are allowed.

Any questions you may have are to be asked in the Discussion Thread. (http://www.xmodsource.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12728) Any questions asked here will be deleted as well as one infraction point will be given. This is the entry thread only, no discussion, please.

Phew, talk about last minute.....
for a second there i did'nt think i was going to get my car in in time but fortunately for me, one of my good freinds let me use his camera;).

here's my superbird.
i've been building this car for over 2 years.
either i could'nt figure out what to do or i did'nt have the money to do what i needed.
if you really look the car over you will notice all kinds of obsticles that i had to think through.
the final product came out almost exactly like what i had envisioned 2 years ago.
i did want a bit of a different style on the chassis and i would have liked to paint in my logos but bart put up that prize and actually put a deadline infront of me behind it:evil: :bigwink: .

Two XTruck rear chassis' melded together to make one rear end
Two custom CLL kits one powers all the front lights the other powers the rear spot lights.
Mock up interior.

The coolest thing is that the rear end is actually reversible so you can run either a fast motor or a crawler motor.

Oh and here is an early test run of the chassis:

As you can see it really needs metal bearings because the extended arms cause it to sag a little.....

Here's my newly completed '77 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade. It's mounted on a car chassis. The chassis is pretty much stock, with bearings and a Spinbrush motor with low gearing. The body is all done by me, even my brand new idea, a Rhinoliner-type of effect. It worked pretty well and I hope other people think so as well!
