I went down to my local hobby store today with $49 and got me a Honda Civic Si, one of those cheap can propelled airbrushes that come with 6 acrylic colors, and steel colored enamel paint. The cars a 1/25 so im going to have to lengthen my chassis, which i have no money to do  But i made the body and started to paint it for the time being. The first layer is all steel, which was less shiny than i hoped. And im thinking of putting a blue or red design on it. hmmmm red or blue? or purple? maybe even green. i like green. O, and i bought some "Sealer for Metalizer." It might sound kind of stupid but I have no idea what that is, but it looked important  . some one care to explain?

Update:...ive just realized that even if i get the chassis to the right size the front tires probably arnt going to turn. i think. well i hope they turn. o well i'll just go through with the chassis extention and see what happens.

Yeah, i lengthened the chassis right now and the front wheels cant turn. I'm going to have to sand some of the body :(

(Not to threadjack, but) Do have/ still have your Xmods plastic case? If so, you can use it to make a custom spacer cheap. This is how I did it:

That seems like a good idea. The only xmod i have is the barricade one and it didnt come with the carrying case, but i have a bunch of hotel cards (used to collect them) i can use.

Its around 2 and a half inches.

Update: I spray painted a dragon wing design onto the body. looks decent. only i had to do it twice because the masking tape that "won't lift paint" lifted the paint  I went to my local hobby store to get some gloss so i can spray it over everything after i finished but they were closed for easter :( . I'm gonna put a little logo (also dragon wings) i made on the hood, but i ran out of blue so its gonna be either purple, black, red, or teal. Not sure which color though...suggestions?

here's the logo i whipped up:

thanks. Not sure what you mean the rest though  . The colors i listed are the choices for the logo that'll go on the hood. I'm leaning towards red.

ps. u guys think i should keep the windows clear, or black?

Update: Ive spray painted the logo on. I mixed teal, purple, black, and leftover blue, which there was only 4 or 5 drops. It basically turned out teal :P the tape did a bit of damage to the hood again, but this time it was because i hadn't let the hood dry for long enough. Figured that enamel would dry alot quicker. i probably layered it too much at once. so here's the logo. Its a bit fuzzy all around (which im sure you can't tell because of the already fuzzy pic) but i plan on scraping off the excess teal with an exacto knife. I'm more or less finished with the body paint, i just need the gloss and maybe paint the windows black. o, and i attached the wing on the back.

ps. i still have masking tape over the headlights. just so you know :D

I say black out the windows to conceal the electronics and such.

yeah, I was thinking I would, but then I had an epiphany (love that word  ). Maybe I could cut the seats and other stuff the model came with and glue them onto a board to put ontop of all the electronics so you can see the interior thought the window. But i'm pretty lazy so im not sure if i'll go through with it :p

update: Ok, i bought some gloss and screwed up my car a bit. The enamel gloss lifted and mixed up the base steel color. I only used it on the edge a bit so it wasnt too bad. I decided to use some acrylic gloss-ish stuff, it was more like glue but it got the job done. sort of. I didn't like how i could see the brush strokes, because i applied it with a brush, so i sat there thinking for a while and then I thought of the model window glue that i bought with the gloss. So basically i layered the glue on the whole body and i'm waiting for it to dry. Don't worry i tested it out  Well, at least i have gloss i can mix in with some paint the next time i need to paint something. O and i painted the windshield all black from the inside (laziness prevailed ) and attached the side mirrors, which i had totally forgotten about. No pics right now, i'll get some after the glue dries.

UPDATE: Alright, I'm officially done with my project. I've installed the clip made of hotel cards, and drilled a hole in the back windshield for the antenna (not in pic), which i completely forgot about. Also as you can see in the pic i glued the exhaust pipe on. I tried using the tire the kit came with instead of my stock tires but the size was a biiiit off and it scraped against the knuckles :( . I didn't realize that the front side windows were nonexistent until i was about to glue it on  so you can see the stuff inside. The only thing I don't like is how you can see the battery pack pretty well from the side. I forgot to put the skirt on, but it only would have covered 1/4 of a cm more. Yeah, and CA glue isn't so great... It bonds weak and it spreads everywhere, you can't put a drop on a spot and expect it to stay there. I like the precision gluing nozzle though  . Krazy glue ftw.
