i don't know what that means but i don't have a team and have heard of no teams around me. there is a hobbie shop by me that holds races every sunday but those are for more of bigger scale but they are still fun to go whatch.but hey i'd be willing to join/start a team

oh because iam not that big into scions its just when i got my first xmod (scion) i just thought of that name. so yah.and i have only seen like 5 different scions in washington so i didn't even know there was a team/club

The team my friend and I are trying to start is Honda/Acura.
It really encouraged me to swap my '09 Camero for the Mini-z S2k.
I'd been wanting to do it since I got the Camero, but I was never motivated enough to bother until my friend suggested possibly starting a team.

that club is huge, there is over like 130 members... its hard to miss! lmao those guys are nuts and a lot of fun to be around at shows.

Just got rid of my 2006 STi, so no i dont drive right now. Currently trying to figure out what i want to do for my next car. I almost baught a 09 wrx, and then a 06 baja, but now im leaning towards building a new sti from scratch starting with a bare shell. we will see how things go.

I hear building a car is cheaper. Would that be true in your case or would you end up buying too many Turbos and other "upgrades" to save anything >:)

SPR

thats a highly touchy subject that depends on a TON of factors. but in MY case... ill build a 25 thousand dollar car for less than 7 grand. So yes... it will be cheaper.

S2k Racer

Plan on making it any better than stock with that "cheaper" budget?

SPR
01-01-2009, 01:57 AM
yes and no. depends what you call "better"
it wont have the luxury of a stock sti, or the quietness (if you call a stock sti quite anyways)
Wont have the clean fancy street car look.

i plan on making it more functional to my daily life.
More Rally ish and ready to get dirty.

instead of blue carpet and floor mats that i was always so anal about keeping clean and spot free, i will have the floor rhinolined.

Ill have a pretty stripped interior, no air bags, not much of a dash, not the standard door panels, that type of thing. Will be a lot lighter weight. Roll caged, will be more of a race type car ready for abuse in anyway with out worry. As far as performance, it will be pretty basic. ill put a 4" downpipe on it only because thats cheaper than putting the stock downpipe on, which is just stupid... will be tuned, so it should crank out an extra 30 hp. but nothing to crazy untill its all said and done, and completely paid for, and i have a new daily driver. then ill worry about making the horsepower.

sweet we are building my mom a 47 international rat rod it's on a 72 ford chassie right now. and theres only a few things left to do to it and we only got like $1200 into it so it was pretty cheap.

Ok, I went to 2 hobby shops around here and other than that both don't know anything about 1:28 scale, they say there's a place in Seattle that has a track, but the people who used to Xmod/Mini-z there have all moved on to "bigger and better" (Tamiya, etc.) so I'm going to check out the track. I think It's called Seattle Indoor Raceway.
