Ok guys hoping somebody here can help. I would like to build a small set of the scanner lights for a future project but am having a small amount of trouble. As easy as it is to find a bunch of plans to build these lights I am sorry to say but I cannot read schematics. If I was told what parts to buy and how to place them on the circuit board I would have no problem building the board. So I'm hoping somebody could do a build up of one or explain it to me "like I'm 2 years old" (Tab B into Slot B). I'm looking to do a simple 4 led scanner. My other thought was is there a way to mod the lights from the Barricade light bar. Thanks in advance.

If you go to a locally owned gas station they usually have a bunch of trinket things, there is a couple of led cigarette lighters that have that exact same set up on them you could get them for 2-3 bucks and save yourself the hassle. I'm sure if you looked around you can find something useable on a small toy or what-not that would save you the hassle of scratch building it.

Or you could go with something like this:

run wires from the board to the LED's so you can mount the board on the roof of the car... would need a bit of modification to make work but shouldnt be to hard!

If you have the schematic, I can help you read it. Just post a link, and I'll take a look. :D

i recognize that one:), it'll blink pretty fast, and only red, white, red, white, but that on would be greeat for a cop car, all blues blink in unision as do the reds, just run the wires to scattered LEDs in the body, sorry to get off topic...

I wouldn't waste that body by modding it to fit an Xmod.Thats more of a collectible and starting to get rare.
