well, I decided to paint my xmod a nice military green color. I sanded it, then sprayed 6 light coats on, followed by 2 matte coats.

I think it turned out nice, real nice.

This is by no means finished, any HELPFUL criticism is much appreciated.

here's some direct images:

That doesn't look bad at all for a first time paint!

You may want to clear up around the windows, but other than that, it looks really good. ;)

kk, any suggestions as to what to use to get that excess paint off the windows?

EDIT1: I know the chrome/lights look kinda bad, rolled a couple times while outside.

get a fine tip sharpie and around the windows, but be careful.

hrm, sounds ok, but that would leave the areas around the window that I covered kinda bumpy because it'll still have paint underneath. I'm looking to totally remove it. thanks anywayz though :D

An x-acto blade will be able to scrape the extra paint off without damaging the black window underneath. You'll just have to be extra careful when doing this.

If it does scratch the black paint underneath you can get a can of black paint and dip a toothpick into it and fill in the scratches/marks with that.

k, I'll try it.

you could just tape off the area around the windows and use some black gloss paint or something like that, but you would have to do it to every window so one won't stand out.

Not bad,not bad at all !!!
Take some paint remover stuff and try to clean the windows,I think a toothpick with some paint remover would be good..

Nice work!

I did a Hummer that exact color - looks sweet on the truck.

Good paint work, a lot better than many first time paintjobs I've seen.

With some practice, you'll get better! :D

you want to try and stay away from the krylon fusion paint because it is thicker, but if you do it right that stuff won't ever come off

the coats were extremely light, and no, it's not bumpy at all, then again, I finished it off with a clear coat, but, meh.

working on some new rims, got 2 installed already. slow going shaving off all the crap with a dremel, but when it's done, it's gonna look sweet! :colglma:

EDIT: I think it's turning more into a pimpin' hummer then outdoors hummer with these new rims, so I'll try to pick up some ultra-gloss clear paint for a new finish. I LOVEZ SHINEY

Paint thinner around the windows, however be aware i have never used it on an xmod, and i dont knwo how it will react with the other paints...its great for washing **** of your hands though...wash your hands with normal soap afterwards also though...
