I went to HobbyTownUSA (where they rejected to exchange my cut up HS-55 servo...) and bought a Truckin' Mini 4WD Toyota Land Cruiser Parado RZ for a somewhat nifty $13.00 without sales tax:

It's pretty nice. There's some nice torque comming from it considering it's a regular 130 motor running it.

The body itself has some stickers. I got rid of most of them so I could possibly (and horribly) paint the body.

If someone says, "You should use those tires for sick crawler!" I will smack them silly. Mostly because it's smaller than an Xmods.

I'm not sure if this is in the right section, so if any Mod wants to, they can move it elsewhere.

Just shot it over to Misc. R/C's Electric sub section.

Although the tires are smaller than the Xmods you may be able to get away with them. They look as if they're pretty sticky and not made out of plastic. Are they rubber or plastic?

They're rubbers.

They look like real soft rubber to me. Almost like Cooldragon(sp?)'s tires he molds. Maybe not that soft but pretty close. Plus, it is Tamiya

If they're rubber, they'll stretch. Take them off the rim they're currently on and stretch them around a slammed kit tire. See if they fit and if they work. I'd suspect it'd work nicely, actually. ;)

Just by feeling them, the Xmods Off-Road tires seem a little stickier... So it won't be of much use I guess...

Wow, You said 13 bucks?!?! How fast is it?
Looks pretty cool, You should find a way too lift it, put a nelly on it, and put a hot motor in it,! Hahah that'd be pretty cool,
Can it climb good?

Lowrideit, No point, its not steerable it is straight axles all around.

All i can say is, MAde some scale axle at this scale!
If not then when ur getting rid of it, spare me the gears and bevel.

I could put a better motor in it. All I really need are motors and Alkalines.

Technically, no. It's just a motor, plastic, a few gears, metal, and 2 AA batteries. If I find a better motor, I can swap it out. I could make a video of it going in straight lines in my backyard though.

I like the warning on the box....
"Never use Ni-MH batteries."

I got confused reading this, I thought it was just a model car!

I wonder why it says that...
Throw in a LiPo pack dude, and a plasmatomic, you will have the coolest toy in SR.

It's not a model car... Which is sort of cool because I can actually have it drive around... In a straight line... joy... I would put in a few Ni-MH's, but I don't want to put a few in and have them explode in a few seconds... I might take a few pics of the inner workings. It's a pretty simple gear system...

I find it weird you can't use convetional recharable batteries, but you can use Tamiya's recharable batteries...

It will be a while before I go back to that hobby store... I don't even know where I can get a Plasmatomic motor... But I did find a Plasma Dash motor for $4.50. I'm trying to figure out a way to put in a battery holder so I can shove in a few more AA's...

IThink plasmatomic motor is a plasmadash pattern in a ball bearing can with neos :) Get the can on AM or anywhere and get that plasma dash for 5 bucks. It will fly!

Sorry for the shakey pictures. I was having a seizure.

This is where the Motor's gear connects to the drive shaft
http://img110.imageshack.us/img110/3320/img1314jo4.jpg

The springs allow for the screw gear to move back and forth without sliding off to Jupiter.

Dude I might have an extra for sale sooner or later...

For 4.50, can you please tell me where?
BTW, you can just solder on the xmods battery pack you know, so its 4 AAAs..

Donzii, that's how I found out about the Plasmatomic...that guy is the shizzle!!

I may has tricked you, but because I couldn't reach my hand through the glass enclousre, I couldn't make sure it was a plasma dash. It might not be. But anyways, it was HobbyTown USA.

Here's a link if you want to look through some of their Mini Racer Accessories:
http://h1069494.hobbyshopnow.com/services/advanceresultsDetail.asp?strProd=&strInCategory=GATC

They have (even though I don't know what they are):
Touch-Dash Motor (Tamiya)
Atomic-Tuned Motor (Tamiya)
Torque Motor PRO (Tamiya)
REV-Tuned Motor PRO (Tamiya)
Atomic Tuned Motor (Tamiya)
Torque-Tuned Motor (Tamiya)

I think they also have:
PN Modified P03 (something like that) Motor for $25

I do regret not spending 3 more dollars to buy a bigger one, but this is quite nice.
There was a model car with tires labed as "Super Swamers" and was a Toyota Hilux or something like that... There was also a model car "Blitz" drift car that Ken Nomura drives in D1GP.

That would be the Toyata Hilux model by Aoshima. Those Super Swampers are exactly what many of the members here love to use on their Xmod Trucks. ;)

Yeah! That's it. Now I wish I bought it... I personally wouldn't call it my LHS because it's a good 2 hours away from my house...
