The evo can hold up to 37T, that's the dead limit, and you can't gear it too high, or you';; blow your fets..

The evo s1 has something around 60 turns I read...it was on XMF..:nod:

Just rewind it...
Worth the time, if you are gunan gear it 25-25, then do 40t.

If you are doing stock gearing, do 37t for best speed....

That depends on the winding style and size, BLT. The thicker the guage the less resistance, meaning the easier to blow your stock FETs; even with a "safe" amount of turns.

Say you have the same gearing with two motors in two identical cars, the only variable are the motors. One has 37T in 30AWG wire and the other has 37T in 26AWG wire. The 37T with 30AWG wire would have a harder time blowing the FETs because it would pull a lesser amount of amperage than the 37T with 26AWG wire.

Because the 26AWG wire is thicker there is less resistance, so the electricity can flow better, and it will pull more amps than that of the 30AWG wire because it is thinner and pulls a lesser amount of amps.

In my opinion there is no "safe" amount of turns. Given the proper conditions a 33T motor would work flawlessly on stock FETs, but when given the one opportunity for something to go awry (au-ri) it could all fall apart and blow your stock FETs. My safe haven is always with 45T of 26AWG wire and 43T with 30AWG; but I've also shoved a motor with 36T 26AWG wire (the motor I use from PX on my Mustang and F150) and there hasn't been a problem, yet.

I made a 40t motor with the stock wire and It works great! I dont have any magnet wire or I would rewind it.

You can pick up a pack of wire at your local Radioshack for ~$5. It comes with a spool of 30AWG, 26AWG and 22AWG wire. There's quite a lot of wire on each spool for the price.
