hey guys i just wanted to get your opinion on this project

im going to paint my 05 mustang gt like the 07 remake of parnelli jones' 1970 boss 302 mustang

this protect has not official started just yet need another mustang body before i can get started but i just wanted to see what you guys think

the parnelli jones mustang was a 1970 boss 302 fastback grabber orange with flat black stripes

if you look in the gallery theres a 65 with the #15 and all the sponcers on the side

its not a xmod body its from a model kit and so far as i can tell the bk will need little change

May I ask why you went with a model kit instead of an Xmod Mustang body? You made a lot more work for yourself, in my opinion.

i went with a model body because if i f*** up i can go by another one for 10 bucks the xmod bodys are 25 plus shiping

the color is a hard one to get in model paint, the best bet on it is automotive paint, the color is grabber orange, its not fun to try to make

its the whole thing the car needs a lot of body mods no matter xmod or model body i chose the model body because if i mess up i can put that body on the chassis it came with and go buy another kit

Dude, i saw that car today. or at least a mustang that had the same body paint (except the "15"). had the scoop too. Do they sell them like that? I only got a glimpse of it because it was parked at an elementary school, caught me off guard. Looked awesome though.

yes they do sell it, its the saleen parnelli jones limited edition s289 but I can garente you that it was not the pj edition, my friends dad has a grabber orange mustang that looks just like it but with out the side and hood stripe

small update, I got the chassis long enough to fit the body now its just mounts, louvers (or however you spell it), paint, and I think the car might be done

all I can tell you is that it is a low number I'm not sure the exact number but it is a very limited edition car, the PJ edition that was at my world of wheels was number I think 237 out of the 500 or so built

if I change the color it would not be a parnelli jones mustang that color is really cool in real live, and I am using a xmod chassis I just haven't mounted it yet,if you read one of my other posts I said that I have the length correct but haven't mounted it yet

Rear is way too low. Raise it up with some styrene between the clip and the deck lid.
