View Full Version : Which rims?

I've been thinking about buying new rims becuase the ones on my Rex look to big and the car is too high off the ground. I've been considering Rota GT3's or Konig Feather's in Gold/Bronze. The Rota's have a polished lip. But the wheels have to be atleast six-spoke, but preferably eight-spokes...

Or I've been thinking of going for the Speedy Race Mode wheels in Flat Black. Looks kinda diffrent, but it would work with colored brake's...

Bellow are the pictures of the wheels, with the Konig Feather's first, then the Rota GT3's, and finally the Speedy Race Mode's.

The last picture is the car I like. I have the same color, but diffrent lights and not a CF Hood.. Anyone know what rims are on it? It's the look I'm looking to achieve..

i like the five spoke wheels best on CRX's, just seems to compliment the car better. your car is white isn't it? I like gold on white, so if you can find some sweet (wider spoked) 5 spoke wheels I think that would be best.

I've found Gold rims like the Speedy's. Just haven't taken the time to PS it to the car and see what it looks like...

i would get the five star rims because there much lighter than those gold rims

Why?

Let me put it this way. With rims, you get what you pay for. I've seen more broken Rotas than any other rim. Actually I've never seen any other brand crack or just plain break as much as Rotas. They are cheap knock offs and you'd be better off saving up and buying a quality wheel.

The first ones for sure! What color is your car?

I'm not sure on that... The Konig ones are called "Feather" for a reason.. I think they weigh around 11 pounds a piece.. And they're from Konig, quite a reputable company..

Konig Feather: 15" is 11.9lbs, 16" is 15.2lbs
Rota GT3: 15" is 13.5lbs, 16" is 17lbs
Speedy Race Mode: 15" is 15.4lbs

The Konig Feather's are ALOT lighter than the others. Those extra eight pounds add up..

The first ones for sure! What color is your car?

White with black trim, (soon to be) black projector headlights with Amber Corner/bumper lights...

I'll get a picture...

They litterally break? Crap. Well never mind on them.. They weren't that cheap either...

well if you wanna show of nice brakes then go with the 1st ones. my dad had those in silver on a G35 coupe with brembo's..that looked nice....

- or if you want to go with that black-white contrast go with another black rim...i dont like the one in the 3rd pic. get a thinner spoked rim.

yea i agree with the rim downsizing. Those rims look really big on that car.

15 or 16 inch Konig Feathers in black FTW! Panda-style!

The Rota Slipstreams are too popular...

By the way, did those fogs come stock when you bought the car? It would look good with some nice rectangular ones (to look slightly boxy like the car).

PS. You have one of the cleanest looking CRXes

Not black.. Maybe. I would do gold though...

They came with the car, but currently don't work. I took the thing out, but the switch is still there with the lights. I'm taking them out this weekend and putting in square yellow ones...

Bellow are picture of the two rim ideas. The first (white one) has Gold Konig-Style rims and the second has the Race-Mode-Style Rims...

STOP! Seriously.... That's it! Panda-style CRX! Find that wheel and tire size and get it! That's JDM tyte, yo! :p

But seriously, THAT has got to be the cleanest non-stock-exterior CRX ever IMO!

Acutally.. It's pretty **** near stock. Apart from the Amber Lights and the Yellow Fog Lights, the CF Hood, and the rims (of course) it's completely stock. They are rediculously clean stock.. I love the Rio Red cars..

I'll get a picture of a red one later..
Check out crxcommunity.com, they have quite a few nice rides.

there is NOTHING wrong with rotas.

they are very popular, and perfectly safe to drive on.

how ever they are not track wheels. they are "look a likes" and thats exactly what they do, "look" not perform.

got several friends with them, they are perfectly fine. no problems. putting the same set you posted but in pink on my gfs car.

If I take them to the track or try to performe hard turns, will they hold up to the abuse?

Then again, right now, I'm not really leaning towards them.. I'm thinking about the Konig's or the Speedy's...

ive never heard of them breaking at all, ive seen em on the track before. but never had experiene with them on the track. so i really cant answer that. but they have held up perfectly find to daily driving.

*edit*

actually i take that back. rota is a very popular wheel in the subaru world, now that i think of it, a lot of subys track rotas. still have never heard a bad thing about them.

Haha... It's like the Trueno in Initial D.. :p

I would go for black rims, only bigger and a lower profile tire.

Rotas will not hold up abuse at all. I'll post some pics of busted Rotas when I get off work tonight. Rotas are nothing more than cheap knockoff rims. They won't get you points in car shows either.
