Hey,
has anyone done a pearlescent paint job on their xmod :-? I was going to expiriment with my skyline, but i got afraid of screwing up the paint job or my airbrush, so I settled with a nice gloss blue that turned out good.

Pearls are like candies, they work best over a metallic base coat. Here's something you can try that'll give you some interesting effects (this only works when airbrushing);
Spray a base of gold overall. When the gold is dry mask off a graphic and spray it silver. Before you remove the masking spray a fogged coat of a candy color. Before it dries remove the masking and then spray either the same color candy or a complimenting shade, like a candy sapphire over a candy blue. You'll get four layers in the overall look, the gold (bottom), the silver, then the silver with a deeper candy, then the top candy coat. Done right is has a stunning effect. Over the candies you can thorw a thin coat of pearl, remember that pearl will tend to lighten the top coat so make it darker or mix your candy with the pearl topcoat when you spray.

Ive seen cars with a pearlescent paintjob on http://www.xmodsrc.com/rate-a-car/ there used to be one on the top 10 but it eventually got kicked off. Im sure if you look through the "rate a car" area you'll find one.

if you could get a marbled look on an xmod it would look pretty awesome outside racing
