Locks all 4 wheels to the same power, so they all turn, our they all bind. Locked diffs just mean that when one tire looses contact with the ground, it won't spin ridiculously while the one with all the pressure gets no power.

Pros: Good 4WD bite, all four wheels give the same power/torque provided by the motor.

Cons: Crummy turning radius as the tires can't rotate at different speeds, so it binds a little when turning.

as an idea you could just lock the rear so that all the motors torque is dispersed through mostly the rear wheels giving you a higher turning radius and also limiting your tire slip... at least thats what ive done with my ORC and it works rather great
