Operation: Destroyer was my first crack at a completely custom Xmod. The finishing touches are just now being put on the chassis' electronics, courtesy of Bondo. A couple of months ago, a friend gave me his 05 mustang that he had broken running it through a puddle. Bored out of my mind, i went online and ordered a bunch of alloy, an AM chassis, and a Saleen S7 iWaver body. Here's some pics:

All that remains of the 05 Mustang is the servo
Specs:
Body:
Saleen S7 Iwaver body
Wheels:
Scion BK wheels w/ XI blue lock nuts
Chassis: Atomic Mods Stiletto chassis
Motor: Atomic T2 High Current
Battery: Li-ion
Fet Setup: V3 board
Hot Racing:
F & R knuckles
F & R axles
F & R Lower control arms
F & R Upper shock towers
Rear skid plate
Motor head sink
R Dog bones
GPM:
Motor Cradle
Front gear box cover
Rear gear box cover

WTH did I build this car for? Because i wanted to have one of the fastest Xmods on the forum as well as letting the S7 live up to its name...even in a 1/28 scale car. While Bondo speedchecked it for me, we couldn't get definite results because the tires kept flying off the rims, i think the best result he had before he had to stop was 58KMH...we still don't know the top speed.

sweet car man, S7s are amazing, you should put the black saleen rims on this car though since it is a saleen, and paint the spokes of these rims black and put them on the baaadbird with the rear tires put on backwards (some trimming may be needed)...its just an idea/suggestion

Glue your tires to the rim with even like super glue. They will hold even longer.

Nah MNM makes crazy motors, the dude had the first 40mph xmod on ground I thought. I read it somewhere on XMW...
I got his SS EVO 26t arm, but his motors are very fast, and he made it go.
I have a feeling mine will beat his, but mine will be pretty similar. :bigwink:

Junk had his on the stock gears.
Man...I bet it was 30mph tops.
See, when you have the camera lower...it looks faster and since it's smaller, it looks like it's flying.
He was close, but it wasn't 40mph.
Maybe mine will hit 40mph, we'll have to see......:bigwink:

Hmmm....suicide, we should have a contest to see whos car is faster LOL.

Ha, try Brickmodders 99kph brushless xmod, or Viperdouts brushless gen1, or MNM's 4 cell (AA lithium) RSX....

Then you got everyone who runs an X-2 lightspeed with Li-po's...

Your probably 10th or 11th...

Later,

EDIT, nice ride. The rims and body are nice and clean...

MNM had among the first (if not the first) 40mph Xmod. That's not Brushless (AtomicMods' People had Mamba-Gen1's), by the way... And 40mph (street, not dyno) is fast....

XmodSpeed (supposed scammer, been past shut down) had a 40mph one. They lightened alot of stuff though.. And AtomicMods was hitting the same a few months later...

Viperdout (past mod here) had some crazy projects going as well, like Brushless everything Micro-RC related. He still does some stuff, he's just hard to find. I think he's on Scale4x4 more now.

But this was WAY back...

that car i sweet! you shold get some hard tires to put on there so you can test the top speed, or just use tire bond. 58km/h is really fast still, but i bet you can get up there in the 70's.

Hopefully suicide can get some tests soon.

PS:
SS, if you can, can you get ground tests?:)

this car set the bar for me...the firebird should be faster than it, if not...i messed up somewhere, but the firebird is still under construction. the last dyno test was done by bondo and i believe it yielded 58 kmh at half trigger, he had issues keeping the tires on the back. as far as ground tests, if i can find a place with a smooth enough surface to get it to top speed i'll try it...but i really don't want to lose control and crash it. this isn't the same as the black body, the blue body came from bondo, the black one is waiting on another chassis. i spent close to $400 putting this thing together, the original car itself was given to me by a friend.

Well with all that, you might want alloy rims, at that speed, one crash and your wheels are toast.

It is very easy.
As long as you don't bridge anything, and rip a FET pad off, you're in the clear!:bigwink:
It may look hard with the small wires, but you can do it, not hard at all..

the biggest problem i have is the heat transfer blowing out the steering fets =/ i have a couple of heatsinks to put on the board now but i haven't tried soldering on the board lately.
