i've had some time to play with my radline in my dorm room the past few days and i realized the stock motor has a lot of torque for a 130 motor. then i realized...i have a 180 motor in my hummer xmod that doesnt fit so why not switch em out to suit each vehicle better.

i dont have any good wires for the xmod's motor right now but i'll get it done this weekend, but i did hae the right wires for the radline 180 motor and i must say it's amazing

with the stock motor it will pop wheelies going from reverse to foreward like an xtruck, but with the 180 motor it will RIDE wheelies, its an amazing upgrade in power and performance. now it's faster and has more torque for crawling, and it makes the little ramp that comes with it a lot more fun

here's some pics of the body mounted how it should be and the 180 motor installed

ssmt's tires. I have it like that on my radline. I was the one that did it first for the reccord though

yeah it is sick, i got a video of it pulling wheelies, it goes a lot faster than you see in the vid but this is mostly reverse to foreward stuff for wheelies

The reverse-forward is gonna KILL your drivetrain (I have a feeling I've wrote this before..)..

But it looks good. Were did you get the body? It looks a bit long, but still looks really good...

And, do you think it was worth the $50?

yep, try not to do it too much. i already went through my gears on my original Pro Pulse.

the drivetrain is like 10 times stonger than an xmod so its not gonna hurt it too much, and i dont really do it that much. taking it off jumps is fun as well, it even comes with a carboard ramp in the box :D

i got the body at TRU its about the same size as a hummer xtruck with a little extra past the rear wheels, but the same wheelbase (im still looking for another one for an xtruck project)

after i dropped the 180 motor in it it was deffinately worth the $50, but with the stock motor its nothing to write home about really other than the fact that it has a decent amount of torque for a 130 size motor (good for putting into an xtruck crawler)

here is an old picture of it compared to my hummer xtruck
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m140/noturday/radline/DSC05284.jpg

and here's and even older pic of both flexing on a 350z before the hummer had the tires it needed on it

I've been reading up on you guys's forum (and listening to "Push the Tempo") and seen some cool stuff. I think I'm gonna pick one up in a few weeks. Just gotta fix the Revo and get some Nitro...

1.) So for about $80 you have a pretty fast (bearings and shocks) truck?
2.) How's it jump? Nose High/Low?
3.) I'm gussing no slipper clutch on it?
4.) Any word on Alu. Shock Towers?

it was $50 for the truck, about $25 for the alum/oil filled shocks and the 180 motor (i dont have bearings yet)
2.) How's it jump? Nose High/Low?
depends on how you jump the ramp. EX. let go of the throttle, nose goes down, stay on the throttle and it usually lands pretty flat (this is with the 180 motor now though, the stock one is pretty much nose down always
3.) I'm gussing no slipper clutch on it?
nope, not that i'm aware of
4.) Any word on Alu. Shock Towers?
not yet, but Bobtheangryflower from XMW called customer service and they told him they planned on making some alum parts for it, idk when they'll have them out though

it sonds like a high torqe motor, does it fly in the dirt and grass ??

noturday
10-22-2007, 07:59 PM
it does really well on gravel and concrete i know that much, its not the best in grassbecause its not that high off the ground, i haven't used it in dirt or sand yet, but i assume it would work pretty good

Thanks for the info... Just a few more questions:

1.) The stock servo, is it three wire or five wire?
2.) It's a one piece reciever/ESC right?
3.) How bad (or should I say good?) is the propo compared to a Xmod, or possibly a Micro-T, if you have one?

Stampedekid
10-22-2007, 08:39 PM
how fast would you say it goes, i might pick one up once i round up bout $6-7. also is the original body made from lexan?

noturday
10-22-2007, 08:54 PM
the monster trucks like i have arent made to go fast xmodracer, they're made for torque and crawling and stuff, top speed is maybe 10mph with the motor i have in it

the stock body is lexan

the servo appears to be 5 wire, and i have seen a HS-55 servo mod already done on one

the reciever is one piece

and umm propo? you lost me there

im pretty sure mine was called warpath, the different names are for the

different chassis'
warpath - monster truck
detour - stadium truck
fang - buggy

im pretty sure thats how it goes

TRU has a lot of bodies that will work for the radline, just look around in the r/c section, im sure you'll find something you'll like
