i finally took apart my old gen 1 neon kit and swaped out the leds for blue ones. its awsomee!

looks awsome, is there a tutorial somewhere on this site or another site that shows how to do it?
Where did you buy the LEDs? can you show me which ones/sizes to buy?

no sorry i dont have a tutorial i just kinda thought of it. i would make a tutorial but i don't have another neon kit to do it with. i can tell you but it might be a little hard to follow. i just unscrewed the two small screws on each neon clip and pulled the "diffuser" bar out. then i took off the silver looking tape around the led and the bar. then i took a 3mm led and soldered it in place of the rectangular green led that was previously there. then i put it all back together and thats it. i hope that kinda cleared things up. as for the LED's i just took some 3mm ones i had laying around but you can buy them off XI and you can use different colors as well like red or white.

thats what i do u can just replace the leds with ones from the headlight tail light kit, there 3 milimeter

you can buy nice LED's off XI or even source and RS...

The only ones that RS has are red and yellow/amber in the 3mm size.
the site that I posted has 6 different colors in the 3mm size and they are
$22 for 20 of them shipped.

I am not positive, BUT I don't think XI can do them for that price and give you the color selection.

dont buy any LEDs off of there that is way to expensive, and they arent that bright. You are much better off buying lots off of ebay it turns out to be a whole lot cheaper, around $13 tops for 100.

actually there's ledshoppe.com where you can get 100 leds for 12 dollars (USD)
accepts only paypal though
