Hey all, Pete here. I got these XMODS for my nephews for Christmas, 3 Acura's and one Skyline, a small track, some minor upgrades and a carrying case. They're hooked and now I'm hooked.
In the next few weeks I'm going to build a 3/4 mile (150 running feet) road course in my garage, with a high speed section and 10-13 degree banked turns. The surface has yet to be determined but it may be thin neoprene over plywood. It should take a weekend to build once the materials have been gathered.
I have a small vacuform business that makes 1/32 scale slot car bodies, which I also race (there is a 1 mile scale track in my garage as well), and I have a number of current street and racing body styles in my inventory. I plan on seeing if a 1/32nd scale body is possible to adapt to the 1/28th scale XMOD, if not I may in the future produce a limited amount of XMOD lexan bodies. I've been racing slot cars of various scales for more than 35 years.
My cars will be state of the art, vacuformed bodies, AWD, carbon fibre and bearings. It'll take time to learn all the tricks but that's the advantage of being retired, that's what I have the most of.
I'll be posting the pics of the facility as it's being built.
